☀️ Who am I?
I am Elvira, an experienced and passionate Spanish teacher with over 21 years of experience. My lessons are personalized, practical, and tailored to your goals - whether you want to learn Spanish to better express yourself in daily life, for your work, or to feel at home in Spain.
🎓 CV
I hold a master's degree in Teaching Spanish as a Second Language and a master's degree in English Language and Literature. Besides this I have completed several courses on teaching Spanish for Specific Purposes such as Spanish for Business.
👩🏽🏫 Experience
I have taught for 21 years at prestigious institutions such as the Instituto Cervantes in Utrecht, University of Applied Sciences in Utrecht, and the Community College in Gorinchem, The Netherlands. Currently, I live in Málaga and teach online lessons to students from the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Poland, Sweden, and other countries.

Spanish is my mother tongue, but teaching is my passion. What sets me apart? I combine academic rigor with warmth, patience, and a good dose of humor. My students feel comfortable, dare to make mistakes, and as a result, grow faster.
Having lived and worked in the Netherlands for over twenty years, I understand the challenges of learning a new language and culture.
Now I live in Málaga, and I help people like you feel at home in Spanish - and in Spain.

They say that doctors make the worst patients; well, the same goes for teachers - we're not good students. I have extensive experience of teaching and examining English but have always struggled to learn Spanish. It has taken me many years to find a teacher like Elvira. For me, her most important qualities are her ability to keep the classes flexible (if I have a query we can go off at a tangent to resolve it) and her knowledge of the grammar of other languages. I'm a (very) mature student and can't just be told something, I need to understand how and why, being able to discuss the mechanics of the language and compare Spanish with English grammar has been a great help. I have been studying Spanish for many years but now finally I am totally confident with speaking it thanks to Elvira.
